Chevrolet Caprice is a car model produced in North America by Chevrolet. The 1975 Chevrolet Caprice came in a new style of six-window designing on the four-door version. It had redefined features such as the revised tail- light trim and a revised grille and also GM radial tuned suspension. Its common distinguishing features included a wide body and a big fuel tank.

 

The automaker of this 1975 automobile designed its body in perfect bumps and curves making the car to look elegant from the outside view and it took the shape of a shark.

This car was quite large and longer than its predecessor weighing about 4000 pounds and 18 feet in length. It adopted a new Efficiency system with the introduction of radial tires and high-energy electric ignition. Except for the wagons, the 75 Chevy caprice models had more body insulation and comfortable skirting on its interior designing.

The interior of this car was very spacious and large and was fitted with a 3-seater bench, a feature that was standard for this Chevy caprice though it lacked airbags. Optional features included the AM/FM radio and sound systems. The Estimated fuel economy for this car was rated about 13 mpg for city drives and 18 mpg for highway drives.

The climate control graphics, radio and the dash board also came in a new style. Its new speedometer had smaller numbering for kilometer per hour and could read up to 160 kilometer per hour.

The 75 caprice was powered by a hydramatic transmission 175-horse power 4000 V-8 engine. The 155 Horse power four-barrel V-8 engine was standard for this car model. However, optional engines were available and they included the big block 215 hp (160 kW) 454 cu in 7.4 liter and the 175 hp (130 KW) 400 cu in 6.6 liters. The small block V-8 engine was standard for all the 1975 Chevrolet Caprice wagons.

Except for the 454 hp station wagons, all other engines were single exhaust but were fitted with a catalytic converter system. A new package that came along with this car model featured a dual gauge system consisting of a temperature gauge and a fuel gauge. The 1975 Chevy caprice station wagon was powered by a dual-exhaust V-8 engine.

This caprice came in two-door hard top and two-door convertible. The two-door hard top was fitted with B-pillar usually referred to as off-road-truck-size roll bar. Other four-door models were also introduced like the four-door sedan and four-door hard top.

The Chevrolet caprice convertible came in two other hydramatic sub-models namely; Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible 350 V-8 Turbo-Fire Hydra-Matic and the Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible 350-4 V-8 Turbo-Fire Hydra-Matic.

This sub-version of the 75 Chevy Caprice Convertible model was mainly common in North America, United States. It had automated 3-speed gear box with a Rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a 2-door convertible body type. It had a wheel base of 3086 mm or 121.5 inches while its outside dimension featured a length of 5659 mm. Its reference shipping weight was around 1970 kg while the base curb weight 2034 kg.

This is also Convertible 1975 Chevy caprice sub-model that was common in the United States of America. Just like the Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible 350 V-8 Turbo-Fire Hydra-Matic, this model also was designed in 2-door convertible body-type 3-speed automatic gear-box operating in rear-wheel drive. Its gasoline engine with displacement was rated to be 5733 cm3 while its advertised power was 155 hp/ 115.5 kW/ 157 PS for SAE net while its torque net was 339 Nm or 250 lb-ft.

Its outside body length was 5659 mm or 222.8 inches with a wheel base of 121.5 inches/ 3086 mm. The reference shipping weight was determined to be 4342 lbs/ 1970 kg while its base curb weight was 4484 lbs/ 2034 kg.

This convertible was quite faster with rated theoretical top speed of 161 km/h. Its accelerations rated by a-c simulations were 0- 60 mph in 14.2 seconds and 0- 100 km/h in 15.1 seconds while its drag time rated by a-c simulation was 1/4 mile in 19.9 seconds.
